My mate stepped off the trestle platform. A nail was used as the pin. As he fell the protruding nail opened up his inner thigh from hip to knee. I watched the fat push out from the slice. Quick run to hospital. No more plastering for you for a couple of months Never use screws or nails. Get a proper trestle that dont wobble

Why are you not cutting the corners of the plasterboard 45 degrees with a stanly knife? to get a better attachment with your plaster?

I did try also using pads made from insulation scrap bits which are easy to shave to the right thickness - but then I decided to use the laser level (those with 3d lines) - it's so much faster - see? we beginners have an advantage; we are more open to experiments and new tools.

I did exactly what you said learnt how to plaster on site learnt quickly then went to domestic totally different ball game felt like square one again😂

I can't plaster. By God I've tried. Its not for me. Masonry, carpentry, electrical, drywall, tiles all easy, but plastering no. I just can't get it. That's why I hired the Armenian twins. Freaking machines.

Some years ago, I began learning three coat plaster in the wake of a disaster involving joint compound on old plaster walls. Entire first floor of a house and an orbital sander with a serious grit to reverse the mistake. It hurt. Finding no one in the NY metro area to at least give me pointers, I embarked on my own trial and error program-do I really have to say mostly error?! Recently, I decided to attempt a screeding concept using metal corner beads. Yeah, kinda pathetic. But how to achieve those elusive flat walls that I just could never get? Well, I own a feather board and a Darby, but I was uncertain just how to use either? This video has provided the next steps of my learning process that would have taken a lot more time without it. I really appreciate your instruction. Thank you so very much for your time and your effort.

I make a couple of braces with a bit of cheap 4x1. On the side i clamp one end at the top and the other end at the bottom x 2. Solid as a rock.

I tried plastering, using real plaster not that compound stuff that chips. OMG, the skill it takes to use a trowel. I just couldn't do it. It would be a cringe video for someone who is a professional to watch. I did two coats of plaster and finally had to break down and use box store joint compound as a final skim coat since it's softer and easier to sand, to get a smooth look. That finally did the trick where I got the hardness of plaster but the smooth look that I wasn't able to do because I lacked the skill. It was a 19x20 with a sloped ceiling - not a project I'd ever do again (it was a DIY because it's expensive here to hire real plasterers, no one does that work in the states on the regular; it's always a special request and $$).

Trestles are awful and should be banned! Use a tower mate

Have worked years doing ewi both commercial and residential here in the states and most remodel jobs are like this,if you are doing The insulated systems on a regular basis get yourself a hot knife pack for cutting, v Groves control joints ect great channel 👍

Stick a peace of carpet protection on it trace the shape of the hole then you can use the sticky carpet protection as template on your plasterboard Ps your not supose to feather in a patch it should be flush
